I have a silver wire and tooth coloured brackets with no elastic bands, what brace do I have?
May 10th, 2012I have a few issues with my teeth, am I still able to have a brace fitted?
May 10th, 2012 Hi Darsh.
My question is about whether or not I actually can have braces. I had overcrowding problems as a teenager, and after examining my teeth I can see that the dentist has extracted my lower left first premolar and my lower right lateral incisor. Therefore, my bottom teeth aren’t symmetrical. I also have two wisdom teeth that have impacted at an awkward angle. I’m not concerned about my lower teeth, I’m looking to have my upper teeth corrected. My upper teeth are symmetrical but not straight. Before I book a consultation, do these previous extractions on my lower teeth disqualify me for orthodontic treatment or make it more difficult/expensive? Thank you.
I know I have to pay for treatment but can I have alternative orthodontic systems at an NHS dentist?
April 11th, 2012hello I was wondering what treatments you can receive on the NHS. I have been told you stop receiving the right to have braces for free on the NHS when your 16 but does that mean only fixed braces? I am looking to get braces and upon learning that I would not be able to have them on the NHS (at which point I was willing to have traditional train tracks) I decided to look at what braces are available to align crooked teeth. turns out theres a few and thats why sites like this are up no doubt. If I were to go to a NHS dentist- whetherI haed to pay or not, would I be able to receive any alternative treatments or do they only do traintracks? if so I will go private as to get what I want if im paying for It, and secondly whilst im here are there any benefits of having it done on the NHS or are there advantages of going pivate that outweigh those of the NHS treatment? thanks for any response.

What would be the best system to fix concave shapes on the sides of my arch?
April 11th, 2012Hi Adam, I have thought about braces for some time now as my upper arch has a sort of concave shape to from my premolars to my the teeth behind my canines like a ‘n’ with collapsed sides sort of thing. I want to know whether or not a brace can sort this out and what would be the best type of brace to use should I have the option? as a secondary thought I would like whatever system to be the quickest possible, just incase that changes anything. thank you for taking the time to read this.

What are the two best alternative brace treatments to conventional braces?
March 30th, 2012Hi there sir. Both me and a friend are in a position whereby we need braces. He has already had a few appointments outlining the procedure and things like that for a set of traintracks. I don’t want train tracks and have been looking for alternatives that will be quicker. We have been debating with each other for some time now as to whats the best method, i imagine this does vary from person to person but in general, if train tracks are so widely used is it because they are better than alternative appliances? for instance I have been looking a lot at the damon and the incognito as my favourite two options?? thank you Dr, for your time and input

Having lost a premolar what should I do regarding the gap left behind – orthodontics and implants?
March 30th, 2012 Hi Darsh,
I have lost an upper premolar (some root still present) and intend to get an implant there are however a few things I would like to know first. first of all; A) Can my teeth still be straightened (both arches) even if this ‘gap’ is present?
B) If so, is there one particular system that you would recommend in this case over another?
C) Would you recommend getting the implant done first, and then the orthodontics after?
Many thanks for your advice in advance,
Regards,
What brace should I have if I have my lingual brace removed?
March 30th, 2012mr annop Maini. Could you please help me with my brace issue. I have a lingual brace fitted and i dont like the feel of it on the back of my teeth as i thought i would. I have long wanted to have a nicer feeling brace now so I was wondering what would be the best option to move to if I had these braces removed. cost is not an issuefor now. If I had a brace on the front or a removable one which would you recommend and why, considering my teeth are slightly overlapped and im two months into this treatment on an eighteen month plan. thanks a lot

With gaps and slanted teeth, would I be suitable for braces?
March 20th, 2012I have gaps between all of my top teeth and two of my top teeth are a little crooked and slanted, I really want braces but I don’t know if my dentist will let me have them, do you think that is enough of a reason for me to get braces, and should I go see him or can I make an appointment straight with the orthodontist? I really want braces as my teeth annoy me and to me they look horrible so could you please help me. Thank you, this could really be of a great help
