hi i have a slight gap inbetween my two front teeth, it is slight and only started to appear a few months back- which is still quicker than i thought it could possibly occur! however, ive been told it could be due to the fact that i chew my nails a lot is this true it sounded like nonsense to me. have you ever seen patients where this has been the case? if it is and i stop chewing them will my teeth go back to its original position? didnt think so thats why im on here! would i need a full brace just to close a small gap (approx. 2mm but definitely growing) or is there anything else available to sort out this kind of issue? as you can tell im reluctant to have braces for what right now is a minor issue, on the grand scale of things, so I wanted to know what you recommend?

October 27th, 2011Hello, I saw an offer on Groupon to have Invisible STb Lingual Braces on either your top or lower teeth for £975 (inc. retainer). However, in the next few months, I will be travelling on and off. Can you please let me know how frequently I would need to have appointments once the braces are fitted – and is it a big problem if I am away for, say a month, and can’t have the appointment during that time. What can I do to make my teeth whiter after my braces come off?
October 27th, 2011Finally after a very long wait I am getting my braces off next week!!!!! Is there anything that you can suggest to help make my teeth white and loosen the glue for when they come off so then they don’t hurt as much? I’ve been told to rinse my mouth with very weak peroxide, i really don’t want my lovely straight teeth to be yellow and discoloured when i do get my braces off. thanks for any tips that you can give me

I am in my forties and have crooked front top teeth which I really want sorted out. I am limited by time as I work abroad on 6/7 month contracts and I have seen the 6 month smile option which seems attractive. Can I pay monthly for this sort of treatment? I am in London from November for a few months. I only need 3/4 teeth moving to straighten them as I have a small gap they can move into. Are there any other options for me? Thank you

What mouthwash is best when wearing braces?
October 19th, 2011 My son had fixed braces applied today,and was told to use an alcohol free mouthwash as part of the cleaning routine.
We purchased Corsodyl alcohol free mouthwash,but he’s not sure whether or not it’s appropriate to use.
I have tried looking online for some answers unfortunately with no avail!
All we have found is that it can stain teeth if it’s used regularly,I have suggested diluting it but he refuses to use it until he has conformation!
Please could you shed some light on this matter!

I’m nearly 21 and unhappy with my teeth, can I get braces for free, if not how much would they cost?
October 19th, 2011im nearly 21 years old and im very unhappy with my teeth could i get braces free on the nhs as i dont work. please could you point me in the right dirction. if i cant get it on the nhs how much would it cost to get braces fitted? my teeth have never been very good i had 4 teeth taken out when i was 16 as i had to many teeth in my mouth but now im just stuck with gaps in my teeth i am very unhappy please can you tell me whats the best way to get braces

I am 18 years old and I had a brace around 3 years ago. I didn’t like having it and admittedly I didn’t wear my retainer as often as I should have – though my orthodontist told me I only needed to wear it at night. I now have a gap in the front teeth, which is the only thing that bothers me, but is there any way I can get it sorted? What are my options? Would I have to pay for the treatment, and how much does it cost? Are there any other options that do not include having a fixed brace?

Can I have my braces removed/upgraded for linguals and how else can I keep them clean?
October 13th, 2011I have braces and have done so for about a year, traditional train tracks which i hate. i assume i cannot have them removed in order to implement a new set of linguals perhaps? thas a long shot but worth the ask whilst im here, secondly. although im doing the best I can in terms of keeping ym teeth clean- brushing behind as normal then going through the wires with the little brushes, i also use the point on the flossets to go round my gum line. but sometimes my patience gets the better of me and i get fed up of it. despite the fact that i will carry on cleaning them i weas wondering tif there was anything i can do when i ahave them removed. if i hav them whitened will they be ok or will i need to leave them for a certain amount of time? i will naturally be at the hygienist as soon as l#have them off but im worried they may be stained as my tetth were always bright white they already seem faded?
I have snapped a wire that’s causing me pain but I’m on holiday! what should I do?
October 13th, 2011hi my wires snapped and is now poking out but I’m in Scotland on a family holiday until next Sunday so well over a week before I can get back and see my dentist. is there anything i can do myself it came out yesterday and is scratching the inside of my cheek to ribbons and is irritating the crap out of me. I was about to cut it out but then would the orthodontist be able to get a new wire back in r would she have to take the braces off and put a new set back on when i return? I am 21 you see and I don’t want to have to pay for another set- I understand that alterations and fixing them isn’t an issue but I can’t have them fixed right here right now without taking actions into my own hands.
