With Damon Braces do i need to change my diet to stop it staining the brace?

I’ve had Damon braces on for around 2 weeks, I was thinking about if my diet had to change? I know there are certain foods i shouldn’t eat like chewing gum and sweets, but are there any foods that help keep my teeth clean or strengthen them? Is it possible that the Damon braces change colour with the diet or drinks that i have? I do drink a fair amount of coffee will this have an effect, like it does on teeth. I didn’t know if the material that the braces were made out of would be able not to get stained, or if they do can you get the plates changed? So yeah what’s a good diet to have when you’ve got braces on basically? Thanks Darsh!!!

I had braces before but didn’t get retainers until later, my teeth had moved so they didn’t fit, how much will it cost to get another brace?

Hello, I’ve had braces before but the dentist took ages with my retainers. when i finally got them they didn’t fit so I had to wait for new ones. Within this time my teeth moved all over the place and are nothing like how they were when I had my braces removed. I was just wondering about how much it would cost to have brace again. I’m not fussed about clear ones or anything, normal braces would be perfect. If you could possibly get back to me with some sort of information that would be wonderful. Thank you.

I’ve noticed an increase in plaque building up around my brace plate, i clean my teeth regularly, can it be taken off early or have you got other cleaning techniques?

Hi Darsh, I’ve had a brace on for almost 2 years now, I clean my teeth 3 times a day usually because of food getting stuck in it along with other reasons. The past month or two I’ve noticed an increase in plaque on my teeth and the area around the plate is turning yellow. I think my teeth are not coping very well underneath the brace, I’m worried that there will be permanent damage to my teeth, can i do anything about this or get my brace off earlier? My Dentist said i had another 6 months to go the last time i saw him, can this be moved forward if there are issues like this? Or can you suggest any cleaning methods or mouthwash’s? Had a brace when i was 14, i didn’t wear my retainer after treatment so my teeth have relapsed, what would be the best type of brace for me?

Hi, I had braces put on when I was 14 due to having crowded teeth. I had 4 of my premolars taken out. After a year and a half the braces were taken off as my teeth were then straight. After my braces were taken off I did not wear my retainers. Due to this my teeth have now relapsed a bit. Im 19 at the moment. What would be the best type of brace for me to have staight teeth again.

What is the difference between clarity SL and Damon braces and does wearing a brace change your face shape?

Hi, im thinking about getting braces i have seen two orthdontists one does clarity sl and the other damon, i was just wondering what the difference was between the two braces, also the clarity sl brace was £1200 cheaper than the damons ive also heard that the damon brace gives you a feller smile its called a bracelift im not quite sure what that means would like to know if the clarity brace gives the same effect and also does wearing braces change your face shape as ive heard on quite a few forums that it does and if it does is it for the better thanyou

I have the six month smiles braces and am struggling with flossing, what is the best method to use when my permanent retainer is on?

Hi there ive currently got six month smiles braces on and i am struggling with flossing however i am using superfloss which works well. I am wondering what the best method of flossing will be when my permanent retainer is put on? and do you see alot of cases of decay due to the retainers permanently being there and food getting stuck behind what method type or do you recommend and also is fixed best or removal ? thanks for you help on this.

My teeth are very crowded, will invisalign be as effective as a metal brace?

Hello Dr,   Do you think invisalign treatment is as effective as a metal brace? I do think that invisalign look like the better option being clear and all, but i wouldn’t want to give in to invisible treatment if the brace wasn’t going to do the job properly! I hate my teeth, which are all very crowded and incredibly ugly looking and i just want to be able to smile properly for once, without half attemptimg to drag my hand up to my face. I think having a good smile would make such a difference to my appearance and I would be incredibly grateful for any informaiton you can give me on the matter

I am not seeing any improvements from my brace, should i keep wearing it?

Hello Mr. Patel

Right now I have had ceramic braces on for the next four months because of my cross bite. My teeth all line up on the right side of my mouth but my front top teeth aren’t sitting directly on top of my front bottom teeth, and the left side of my mouth isn’t lined up. I also have a bond on a front top tooth making it a little bigger than the other. I’m wearing elastics, and have been for the past four months, but I’m not seeing any improvements. Should I tell my orthodontist to just take them off? My treatment has lasted two years.

Does it make a difference if you keep Damon braces on longer than normal? Is there a specific age you can have them?
