My lateral incisors cross over to my front teeth, will a brace sort this out?

July 13th, 2012
Q.

Hi Darsh, I have a slight problem with my top row of teeth. All the back ones are fine, but my lateral incisors cross over to my front two teeth. This obviously doesn’t look great but cleaning is also another problem I have, with it being very hard to get in between the gap and a build up of plaque starts to develop. I should of has this problem sorted when I was younger but I never bothered too. I really want to get it sorted now, is there a brace that will sort this problem out? They overlap quite a bit so I didn’t know if this problem could be fixed with a brace or if I would have to have them taken out and replaced with dentures? Look forward to hearing from you!

I’ve lost a lot of weight because when i have my brace tightened my teeth hurt, so i can’t eat solid food, what can i do?

July 13th, 2012
Q.

Hey Darsh,
I’ve had my brace on for a few months now. It started off fine- but as i have had my brace tightened my mouth has just been so sore that i’ve stopped eating solid food all together. I only eat soup and tea with sugar. I’ve lost a lot of weight over the last few months and wanted to know if there is anything i can do, creams or medicine? My mums really worried and is forcing me to eat solid food but i just cant. I feel differently about food now like everytime i eat it im just going to be in pain. Maybe my dentist has tightened my brace to much too fast? I have said this too him but he says that he has tightened it the normal amount. do you have ideas so my mum can stop worrying?

I need a brace, but i box 4 times a week, can i get a special gum shield or a removable brace?

July 13th, 2012
Q.

Hey Darsh! I’m 16 years old and my dentist said that my teeth aren’t great and should think about having a brace, he said a train track one! I do want a brace but I am boxing 4 times a week. I was wondering if there will be any problems with this, would I have to stop boxing or can you get a special gum shield or a removable brace? How long is a brace on for usually, I want to start boxing semi-pro and do not want to have a brace for long if I can help it. What would your advice be? Thank you.

I’m having an unpleasant experience with my orthodontist with no results, can I have a second opinion?

May 10th, 2012
Q.

Hello Darsh,
I am having an unpleasant orthodontic treatment with my orthodontist for over two years and no positive result is seen so far. I would like to have a second opinion of a specialist orthodontist and maybe do this in writing.
My question is, how much does it cost?
I would need to find out is she doing the treatment well and what further is needed to be done to achieve a great result. I am considering to switch an orthodontist, so this is very important to me. Please let me know. Thank you

Best Regards

My braces rub against my cheeks, I’m 6 months into treatment, is there anything I can do?

May 10th, 2012
Q.

Hello Darsh Could you please help me with my braces. I like them- as much as this is possible for braces, but only aesthetically. the braces I find rub against my cheeks which have subsequently turned white where small shaves of skin have been damaged. I am only six months or so into my treatment and wondered if there was anything I could do to fix this. are there any long term solutions you can think of? thanks
