Which Discreet Braces Would You Recommend?

May 20th, 2013
Q.

Hi there! I was wondering if you could help me with something? I’m a 32 year old professional, I work in an office role and I have to give presentations and that sort of thing to other large businesses. I am looking into cosmetic braces to fix my very misaligned teeth but I am looking for something that will not impact my speech OR my smile really. So something that is both discreet but practical and will work fast. Can you recommend anything? I would just like a general idea before I make an dental appointment. Thank you!

Is there any way to fund Invisalign treatment?

June 8th, 2012
Q.

Hi Raha, My daughter has recently had braces on, she really did need them, she was really unhappy with her appearance and didn’t like going to school. So we have had a brace fitted but her mood has gone even further downhill. I think she’s getting bullied at school. I was wondering if there would be a more discreet way for her to have this treatment. I know there are ways such as invisalign but they are very expensive, is there any funding that we can get or a finance option at your clinic? I’m not sure what the best way to tackle this one is? What is your advice? Thanks!

How is Six Month Smile different to Invisalign and the Inman Aligner?

May 10th, 2012
Q.

Hi there , I am a little confused as to what six month smiles offer. I respect that they are quick and so on but if i had Invisalign or the inman aligner for example they would be much quicker. what I don’t understand is how can these three methods take less than/up to six months when the traditional braces take up to two years? what exactly do they do that these other methods don’t and if it’s nothing then why is this method still in circulation and offered as the main orthodontic treatment? I want braces you see and I’m worried that by vying for a quicker option I will be vying for the wrong option. I want the best and as such need to know these things? cheers

I am near the end of my Invisalign treatment but am not totally happy. What can I do?

March 5th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I am currently having invisalign in London. I am basically at the end of treatment, I had 11 trays, and now am on 12+ on both top and bottom, but my orthodontist didnt really want to give me the 12+ trays. It was only because I am still concerned by teeth aren’t fully straight that he did this. It’s one tooth on top inparticular which hasn’t fully rotated. I was given the impression that if this didn’t sort it, there wasn’t much more he would be able to do. I have seen online that some clinics offer refinement with invisalign… Do you know if this is true for all clinics and whether it would be included in the original price? I was told when I signed up that at the end of treatment, he could make little tweaks if you weren’t completely happy with the treatment. What do you think? Many thanks.

What’s the quickest treatment for me: Invisalign or Six Month Smiles?

January 30th, 2012
Q.

HELLO Mr Maini. I would like to ask you about orthodontics, I have heard now for a while that there are orthodontic treatments available that are either quicker than traditional methods or ones that help/work along side, I have looked at six month smiles along with invisalign. I believe I would be a good candidate for Invisalign given the state my teeth are in (not too severe). but i have also now spotted AcceleDent that runs coherently with treatment to speed it up. If i am looking for a quick treatment (before the end of this year) which option would you say is consistently best to go for the invisalign, acceledent or six month smiles, as I know this is a your forte as such. thanks Dr

My teeth looked ‘pushed back’ after wearing Invisalign, what can I do?

December 16th, 2011
Q.

I had braces when i was 13(5 years ago). unfortunatly i took them off with tweezers. Many times i had wore them with many brackets that pop’d out my teeth.I also never wore aligners..i’ve notice how my face change during puberty has my motuh seem’d open even when close, and how i was very unhappy how my face seemed to sink.so last 9 months i’ve recieve my invisalign express aligners, thus my orthodontist said my teeth were in good condition, i wanted to finsh what i started. now i’m on my last set of aligners, im extremly unhappy & uncomfortable how my teeth feel and how my mouth looks as if its been pushed back. My question is if i get braces again, would it push my teeth foward or as it was? is there any other appliance that will help on this matter?

What is the cost of invisible braces?

December 14th, 2011
Q.

I am a 35years old mother of 3 and I am currently in Nigeria but will be back in the Uk soon. My teeth is similar to the picture 7 of your gallery. What type of braces did you use and the cost? I am very worried because I can’t smile and it has given me a huge inferiority complex. I have seen other dentists here but I am not confident that they will do a good job. Please advice me on the braces, is invisalign or the hidden braces. Thanks fro your help as I await your reply. Thanks!

My second Invisalign retainer is nowhere near as tight as my first, is this normal?

November 9th, 2011
Q.

To Raha Sepehrara,

I live not too far from Birmingham and am currently on a course of Invisalign. I had my first retainer, which was was fine. I found it very strange at first as there was a lot of tension on my teeth seemingly everywhere. I love how discreet they are though, I do however have a Problem, the second retainer I have just been given does not have anywhere near the same amount of retention as the first did. I don’t now whether to have another made or whether this time taken will hinder the treatment time and may cost more. firstly do you think it would carry an additional cost to have another one made but before that would you say it was necessary to have one made at all? please, with your experience being vital in this field, could you advise me on what my next move should be. thanks a lot

I feel like my Invisalign aligner isn’t putting enough pressure on my teeth, does this ever happen?

November 4th, 2011
Q.

Hi Sharon, I’m a little confused as to orthodontic treatments for me, I went for a consultation about six months ago whereby I was told my crooked teeth were suitable for Invisalign treatment, which is what I really wanted at the time as they just offered everything I wanted for stuff I didnt mind going through at all. the problem came later, short while after I had my impressions taken and given my retainers i followed treatment correctly getting new retainers at approximate two week intervals. anyway when I got and started wearing my third retainer I couldn’t feel any pressure on my teerth at all it felt like the second one had done near the end of its lifespan, I went back to the dentist and he rightfully pointed out how they were indeed different, so at that point we took more impressions and went again, the new retainer felt better but we then had the same problem with what would have been the fourth instalment of retainers. my dentist suggested that they wernet moving my teeth hardly and that I should look at other appliances? have you seen this as being the case before now and what appliance should I go for If my teeth are barely crossed as they are now when Invisalign struggled to move them? what would be your next step if at this point I was your patient?

How many aligners are normally needed to complete a case of Invisalign?

November 1st, 2011
Q.

Hi, I am about to be having Invisalign treatment to sort out slightly crowded teeth. I dohowever have a problem that I want to clarify with yourself, who has comleted many similar cases. when you are consulting a patient and advising them how long treatment will take/ how many retainers they will personally need, what would you say is the average amount of retainers? I always thought it was four retainers for two weeks but I have now been told that I could need as many as six retainers over a period of three months (two weeks intervals). either take that option or have a more conventional option which is much longer, could you please advise me what I should expect and whether what I have been told is right or whether my orthodontist is off his head? cheers
