I think i might have an abscess under my tooth, will this affect my Invisalign treatment?

Q.
Hey there Raha, I’m about 4 weeks into my Invisalign treatment, everythings been fine up till now but recently i have been having some trouble with one of my teeth on the top. Whenever i bite down on something i get a hard shock going through my tooth – its very very painful! I think i may have an abcess underneather my tooth. What is the best way to deal with this? Because if the tooth is pulled out then will this not affect my Invisalign treatment? I’ve spent a lot of money on it and don’t want it to be a waste but the pain is really excrusiating! Is there a way to get rid of the abcess without pulling my tooth out? Thanks raha, look forward to your reply!

Hi, I would recommend seeing your dentist to find out whether the pain you are getting is due to the brace (which can be normal) or whether it is a problem with the actual tooth. Your dentist will be able to tell what treatment is required and whether it will affect your invisalign treatment
