Will the Inman aligner damage my teeth?

July 19th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctor, I hope you are well

I was just wondering about Inman aligners. It sounds like one of the best treatments being very fast and much cheaper than some of the other more modern braces but could you tell me how it works. I understand there are opposing pressures and am just mildly worried that this could damage my teeth. Has this ever been the case? My problem is mainly my front teeth which are slighly buck, what is the general treatment time for a condition such as this?

thank you for your time doctor

Is there a invisible brace that could fix my teeth?

July 19th, 2011
Q.

Hi

i have really, really horrible teeth and I am at my wits end about what to do about them. I have gaps, twisted teeth, an overbite, you name it i seem to have it and i would really like something to change all that and give me some confidence. I would love a brace to treat my problems but am worried that i would need a really heavy duty metal brace or even a head brace to do it! Can you recommend any braces which are really effective but at the same time no one can see them?

if you could help me with this i would be really, really grateful

Can I still get braces after chipping my tooth?

July 19th, 2011
Q.

Hi doctor

i was all set for getting braces, when i fell and chipped my front tooth. I have had the tooth checked out and had it fixed so its a whole tooth again, but i just wanted to know whether i could still have treatment, as it is my two front teeth that i was mainly going to have sorted out with the braces. The brace i was going to have was a 6 month smile braces, would I still be able to have the brace. It was only a little nick at the bottom of my tooth that was missing.

thank you

How do I stop my teeth from grinding together?

July 19th, 2011
Q.

hello

my back teeth are always grinding together, to the point where i think they are going to just wear each other away. I definitely think it is something to do with my bite and the fact that my top and bottom teeth don’t sit together properly, just like kind of towards the left side more. My question is, can braces fix something like this and if not what would you recommend?

any help you could give would be brilliant

July 11th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,

could you please tell me the best course of action for treating a protruding bottom jaw?my bottom teeth protrude over my front by about 1.5 mm and although that doesn’t sound a lot, im sure you know it can make a world of difference to a smile. My top teeth are also slightly crooked, not much but i would also like to treat that if possible?
What would you suggest doctor?

thank you for your time and any advice you can give

Can STb social 6 braces treat back teeth too?

July 11th, 2011
Q.

Dear Dr Hutchison,

I am interested in having the STB social 6 braces treatment but have a few questions.

Firstly, I know the treatment provides rapid movement of the teeth. Is the risk of root resorption increased compared to conventional braces? If so, by how much?
Secondly, I notice from the pictures and case studies that the brackets and wires are placed only on the anterior teeth, leaving the posterior teeth not to be treated. Is it possible to have the posterior teeth altered as well, or is the whole point of the STB social 6 braces to adjust only the anterior teeth?
Can the treatment be successful with partially erupted 3rd molars?
Lastly, once the treatment is complete, do you give a retainer of some sort to ensure that the teeth do not move back into their original position?

I would greatly appreciate it if you could take some time to answer these questions.

Warm Regards,

Dr Ian Hutchinson

I had a tooth put back in after it was knocked out, would I be able to get braces?

July 11th, 2011
Q.

hi

I recently suffered an accident where my tooth was knocked out, but as it came out at the root i was able to have it placed back in my mouth by a dentist. That was 4 months a go and the tooth feels secure and i just wondered would I be ok to have braces fitted to a tooth like that? I would like the 6 month smiles fitted as they seem both discreet and effective, would i be ok to have this brace?

thanks for your time

What type of braces would be suited to my narrow arch and two front teeth that stick out?

July 8th, 2011
Q.

Hello doctor,

My doctor tells me that I have a narrow arch on my top jaw and i have always noticed that my smile is quite narrow and ‘rattish’ This isn’t helped by my two sticky out front teeth which have also bugged me all my life. I now have the money to spend on decent braces and a good smile for the first time in my life, but would obviously like to make an informed decision about the braces I choose. Which, in your opinion would be best suited to my condition?

thank you for reading my message and any help you can give

What braces treatment would you recommend for my horrible crooked teeth?

July 8th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctor,

I just wanted some general advice on the best brace for my condition. I understand that a full evaluation will be needed before everything can be certain but I would just love some outside information to help me with my choice. OK basically I have very horrible teeth, not decayed or disease just very crooked. My two front teeth are buck and I have a number of those ‘fang’ teeth which occur when teeth erupt above milk teeth and then never settle. Which brace system would you recommend for treating this case effectively, quickly and if possible discreetly?

Thank you very much for your time doctor and any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Can you recommend a braces system that can fix my teeth before wedding day?

July 8th, 2011
Q.

Hello Doctor, can you please assist me with my enquiry. I am looking for a brace system which could have be ready for my wedding which is in two months. My front teeth protrude a little bit, but apart from that I have no other orthodontic problems. I have recently come in to some money and think it would be well spent on a good looking smile for my wedding, so could you also quote me on the price of the brace to see if it fits within my budget?

Thank you very much for any advice you can give
