What are the advantages of the Inman Aligner?

October 12th, 2011
Q.

Hi I have crowded bottom teeth and am looking at having corrections applied but want to avoid having the older fixed braceas its ugly and slow. I was looking at the alternatives and having studied over 500 cases and been around the inman aligners for as long as you have I thought I’d ask you what would you say are the most obvious drawbacks of this method and is it the best for controlling/fixing over crowded teeth. I’ve been told the imans are quick but how quick when compared with the older technique. all in all would you say this was the better route to sorting out overcrowding or would you be put off or swayed by another technique- if so which would you say follows behind?

I like the look of Incognito lingual braces. Would you say these are the best type of cosmetic brace?

October 7th, 2011
Q.

Ive looked at lingual braces as I dont want the normal ones. ive seen that there are issues with patients who take these treatment having problems with their speech and diets. Ive looked at the incognito type and correct me in thinking this but being the design it is it looked like doesn’t extrude off the teeth as much as the social 6 fiitment type if this is the case then surely speech will be affected less and quicker to get over? is this the case? also how long- abouts does this type of treatment take to straighten teeth? wuold you say this was the best option for cosmetic type braces when it comes to straightening crooked teeth or is there a better method, for example which would be the quickest, which one os most practical? im looking to have them done you see and if im paying out for the best treatment I need the better methods.

What are the differences between Invisalign and clearstep? And what financial support is available for a student?

October 7th, 2011
Q.

hi there,
I would like to know whether or not there is a difference between clearstep and invisalign both in the performance and the cost?

I am a student at Nottingham university and have crooked upper teeth. they are not crazy bad just slightly overlapped. I feel I am a good candidate for this type of treatment over a brace.

I am quite happy to cover the miles to see a well practised orthodontist such as yourself. I noticed that in your profile it mentions that you are an elite clearstep provider and upon seeing a picture of it it looks the same as invisalign and i was just wondering whether there would be a difference in price or performance of either- or whether they are at all different full stop?

secondly is there any financial help I can get as a student of still 19yrs old as this type may exceed my current budget, or does it depend on the practitioner?

could you perhaps recommend what you think is a better, quicker treatment or is this the best?

thanks very much.

October 4th, 2011
Q.

Is there anyway that I will be able to get braces even though I have some issues with grinding teeth? this is a problem that has increased recently but i think i’ll just put that doesn to stress. my stress isn’t helped by my horrible crooked teeth though and it seems like there’s no end for my troubles. is there no particular brace that can help with this condition. i just want to have this sorted please.

What are the different types of braces as I don’t want train tracks?

September 28th, 2011
Q.

im looking to get braces to fix my crooked teeth and will consult this with my dentist over the next week or two there is no way getting tradition ones. I was wanted to know which you think is the best braces taking everything into account, budget, duration of treatment, aesthetics, comfort as well as final result to sort out overlapping teeth (bottom mainly but its started in the top arch now)? i like the look of the inmans but ive heard theyre expensive but they are also meant tot be quick arent they? also the social 6 brace looks good but i was wondering whether the back teeth would need to move to help prevent crowding in order to give the front room to move or do they push the back ones out? i dont know enough could you help and advise please i want to turn up at the dentist with some knowledge?

My teeth are beyond re-structural help. What can I do?

September 28th, 2011
Q.

I have several teeth that I believe are beyond re-structural help they are all healthy and well coloured but it would take a genius metal fabricator to get wire round these bad boys, however i need corrective treatment and was wondering for extreme cases of crowded teeth what would be the best option? ive toyed with the idea of having them removed and having implants as its only like 3/4 teeth? obviously id prefere to keep my teeth but they really are all over the place. so if they were only a little out of line invislign would surely be the obvious treatment as the teeth don’t have to move far and you can barely see it. at the other end of the scale like I am what would you recommend looking at and am I well off in my idea or have you seen it done before?

Q.

Hi there doc, Iam a 24 year old model and want to get my teeth fixed to help me get more work. money isn’t an issue i just want my teeth fixed fast and you not to be able to see the braces at all. I live in the London area. Please could you tell me an estimated price, whether they’d hurt or not, how long they’d take, would my speech be affected? and any more useful information that you could get me, thanks a lot xxx

I asked for braces then changed my mind after seeing the procedure. Can I change my mind again an have them?

September 27th, 2011
Q.

Hi last year I asked to have braces to sort my teeth out but then after being told about all the pain the procedure will involve and all the injections I would need to have I said no. However now I have had the chance to think about it I have now decided I definitely want braces as I hate my teeth and feel they definitely/finally need sorting out, so you think, If I go and ask I’ll still be able to the have braces fitted. The orthodontist said I was on the borderline of needing them before but I really don’t like my teeth as to me they’re very crooked and I have an overbite which I cannot stand any longer. Thank you,

What exactly can a brace do in terms of pulling power and which is best?

September 27th, 2011
Q.

ive had issues with my teeth for a while now but i dont know if i need a brace? I am well aware that its hard for you to diagnose without seeing me but I have an uneven gum line and some of my teeth protrude. basically, without seeing me can braces help rescue an uneven gumline if the average displacement of the teeth is not to great ? and can braces help in terms of pulling teeth in more than one direction at once because where some have protruded they have overlapped (only slightly- worth mentioning) could a brace pull sideways, then back/forwards etc? would i be a candidate for a brace or would i need surgery? if possible so you think you could recommend a particular brace (if money was not considered at this point) for this case if possible (might be better/more accurate to rule out options that wont sort out gum line etc.) thanks for your time

My age and job mean I don’t want train tracks. What’s the price difference between these and lingual braces?

September 21st, 2011
Q.

HI there- straight in there firstly what are the cost of lingual braces compared to traditional braces or do they differ massively on a case by case scale- if so what’s about average? and secondly which is best? I’m basically looking for the quickest fix to crooked teeth but I don’t want train tracks due to my job and age. At 29 i go to a lot of big meetings and don’t want to be sat trying to nail a deal when im slavering everywhere and looking like a teenager (bit over the top but you see what i mean) ive seen these six month smiles and everything advertised but I honestly don’t know which is best? my teeth aren’t crazy overlapped just slightly- what are thoughts and recommendations? thanks very much
