Had a brace when i was 14, i didn’t wear my retainer after treatment so my teeth have relapsed, what would be the best type of brace for me?

July 16th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I had braces put on when I was 14 due to having crowded teeth. I had 4 of my premolars taken out. After a year and a half the braces were taken off as my teeth were then straight. After my braces were taken off I did not wear my retainers. Due to this my teeth have now relapsed a bit. Im 19 at the moment. What would be the best type of brace for me to have staight teeth again.
Thanks for your help!

What is the quickest and most effective tooth straightening brace for me?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

I am considering having my upper & lower teeth straightened.
My main problem is one of the front lower teeth has over time been forced back, resulting in my bite not lining up correctly, as they have become a bit scattered.
Also a slight gap in my upper front teeth but my main concern is my right canine sticks out a bit from the others and is also slightly higher up in the gum and a yellowy colour, compared with the other teeth.

What type of brace would be the quickest, less visible AND most effective for me?
Please help!

I look forward to your response.

Regards
LP

Would social six treatment be a good option for me?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Hello Mr Thorne. I would like to know a little more about social six braces please. my lower teeth between my two canines are all squashed together and I think a social six brace would be perfect. I think they are too crooked to be treated using Invisalign? but the rest of the teeth I don’t think will benefit from a full brace. anyway, do you think it is possible for teeth to be too crooked to have the social six or will they fir on anything? also by only moving these teeth are they quicker? thanks

I have a gap on the lower teeth and crowding on the upper. What should I do?

March 5th, 2012
Q.

Hello Darsh. I am in the unfortunate position of having crossed teeth on the top and a gap onn the bottom. when I was about twelve the dentist extracted a couple of my lowe teeth to make room for growth as they were starting to overcrowd, anyway these have moved apart which I am not happy with, indicating that he clearly didnt need to take out more than one and has created too much room. what Can I do about this as he was not sure about moving top teeth out and lower teeth in at the same time, I wont be having any work carried out there from now on and am looking for treatment that would be suitable for this situation? thanks a lot Dr

Why would my teeth begin to crowd at the ago of 39?

February 17th, 2012
Q.

Hi there
My bottom set of teeth have been crowding for the past two years (Im 39 years old) it got so bad that I bit the front off my lower front tooth and thought it wise to have it removed to free some space – as the pressure felt too much (it could not be crowned). Why would they start crowding so badly? I did have my wisdom teeth removed as they were sideways on and never going to appear. Could a remnant of tooth be left in the gum that has decided to travel – it appears only on one side. I truly believe the gap will close because of the pressure I have been experiencing. I really need to see an orthodontist. Would you have an x-ray on the back teeth?
