Dr Thorne, I am from Brazil and am studying here in England. Last night i have been out to my friends, i have been hit in the mouth and my front tooth become very lose and fell out. I have tooth at home, it is bleeding a lot but stop now. will i be able to get this fixed and will it cost more money? I am student do i still pay? My friends seem to think i will? I wear a brace at night because i used to have brace when i was young child, so what should i do with this, take to dentist and not wear it while this is sorted? It is very painful but i dont have lot of money, hopefully they will be able to help me? Thank you for advice!

Having lost a premolar what should I do regarding the gap left behind – orthodontics and implants?

Hi Darsh,
I have lost an upper premolar (some root still present) and intend to get an implant there are however a few things I would like to know first. first of all; A) Can my teeth still be straightened (both arches) even if this ‘gap’ is present?
B) If so, is there one particular system that you would recommend in this case over another?
C) Would you recommend getting the implant done first, and then the orthodontics after?

Can I have braces to move my teeth, even though I have a bridge?

Dear experts, hello I am 21 and my teeth are in a pretty bad shape due to lack of treamtnet and general looking after them over the last few years. I have lots of fillings in my back teeth and have some bridge work at the front of my mouth as my eye teeth never grew. I would just like to know If I could have braces despite the filling work and the bridges, and is there a particular brace i cannot ave as a result? also would I need further cosmetic treatment to improve my smile thats available full stop, as I would like to be able to smile and laugh without being conscious of my bad teeth. Will getting a brace fix my gapping?

Hi Dr. Patel, a few years ago I had one of my back teeth out, since then 1 of my wisedom teeth on the same side has come through. as well as this I’av started to get small gaps in between some of the teeth surrounding my missing tooth. These gap reli bother me as bits of food get stuck in there, some times for day without me managing to get them out, would braces fix this problem for for me? thanks
