I have been referred to have wisdom teeth out as the lower left is on the jawbone. I asked my dentist a year ago about this as I was concerned my teeth would move and would affect how straight they were. I also have an underbite and my bottom front teeth have been moving since the wisdom teeth started to come through- now these have moved forward making the underbite more noticeable again. For a few years now I was at an edge to edge bite for the front teeth but this is now changing. Just wondering what my options are as I am 23 now but am really not happy with my teeth. I am really conscious of the underbite, more so now that my bottom teeth have moved, I know I can have an operation on the jaw but want to avoid that? Thanks

January 16th, 2012i have crooked upper and lower teeth and an underbite (not a massive underbite but jutting out slightly more to the left). when i was 14 or 15 i was fitted with braces and told i’d have to wear them for two years, i think. i was told that i’d then have surgery to move my bottom jaw backwards and into place. after a few days of having the braces fitted, i couldn’t take the pain and cut the wires. i’m now 26 and this is a massive regret. i get jaw ache, the underbite and crookedness of the teeth has worsened and i’m constantly hiding my smile. i’d like to get it sorted. three questions: 1)would it be possible to get those invisible braces fitted? 2)how much would it cost in a private surgery, roughly, to have straight teeth and no underbite 3)how long would it take? thank you in advance

Can Six Month Smiles fix my mum’s protruding teeth?
November 28th, 2011Hi i am writing to you on behalf of my mother. she is 47 years old and wants to have braces. she visited a dentist several months ago and they examined her and said that she has a small lower jaw, deep bite with upper teeth overlapping the lower teeth vertically and that her upper teeth are very pushed forwards, spaced and proclined. but then she went of the idea but now is adament on doing them. so i was just wondering what would be the best thing to do. is the 6 month smile plan a good idea and roughly how much would it cost

Can a brace save my under-bite and in doing so reduce wrinkles around my mouth?
October 19th, 2011I need to have a brace to sort out a slight under bite. that’s the end of the problems as you will see in a minute but for now will any brace sort out an under bite or will it fix it at all? I see how it would fix an over bite as it pulls all the teeth in but how could it then push all the teeth back out? If a brace can fix this what kind of brace would be needed would it have to be a traditional fixed brace or can I have any of the more aesthetically pleasing ones? then we get to the next bit. I have wrinkles in my cheeks near my mouth and suspect they are there because my underbite is not supporting my face. I was hoping whether you could confirm whether this can happen and if a brace will get rid of them (if my teeth are sorted), if not whatsurgery can I have in and around the mouth to get rid of them? thank you doctor
