How can i get straight teeth?

October 24th, 2013
Q.

My two front teeth bend severely inwards but over the years my dentist hasn’t pushed for me to have anything done about it. In the past I have been told that in order to wear braces I would first have to have some teeth extracted as I have overcrowding. So, say I have some teeth extracted-then what braces would be best to make my two front teeth straight and realign the rest of my teeth? I don’t want the most expensive treatment but I don’t want them to really stand out…Any help or advice you could pass my way would be fantastic. Thanks

I want discreet braces for my 12 year old daughter

October 17th, 2013
Q.

Hello,
I wondered if you could help me.My daughter is 12 years old and has been told that she will need orthodontic treatment. This is at an NHS clinic we go to. They say she will have to wear fixed braces on both her top and bottom teeth. My daughter is not at all happy about this and has been crying about the prospect. At first I thought she would come around to the idea but it has been going on for over a month now. If I was to look into private dental clinics would there be more discreet options for my daughter or would they be the same fixed braces? Thanks for your time.

What braces can my teenage daughter wear?

October 2nd, 2013
Q.

Hi Doctor,
My teenage daughter has been told that she will need to have braces because she has an overbite. She is very upset about this because she is a very shy girl and finds it hard to make friends and talk to people as it is. Out current dentist has told her that the braces will be fixed and she just doesn’t want them and is refusing even to discuss this with us.
I would like to know more information about the braces that are available privately as i do not know much about this subject matter. If she came to your practice what braces would you possibly suggest that are more discreet?

Which Discreet Braces Would You Recommend?

May 20th, 2013
Q.

Hi there! I was wondering if you could help me with something? I’m a 32 year old professional, I work in an office role and I have to give presentations and that sort of thing to other large businesses. I am looking into cosmetic braces to fix my very misaligned teeth but I am looking for something that will not impact my speech OR my smile really. So something that is both discreet but practical and will work fast. Can you recommend anything? I would just like a general idea before I make an dental appointment. Thank you!

Why are my adult teeth moving out of position and what can be done to straighten them?

January 4th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Patel.
I’ve been noticing some change with my teeth recently as some of the top and bottom teeth are moving and becoming dislodged slightly and its causing the other teeth to move out of place and i’m afraid soon, all my teeth with of moved out of place and have all become crooked. Do you think I need a brace to straighten them out or do you think removing one of the teeth to give the others more room would help. If you think a brace is the answer i’m concerned about what affect this will have on my work life. Do you know of any less noticeable braces? Also, could you shed some light on why this might be happening now at 34? Thank you

Disappointed with Invu braces that don’t seem too invisible! Feedback?

October 12th, 2011
Q.

I had tooth coloured braces/Invu braces fitted last week, theyre not tooth coloured at all they look like big lumps of mould on my teeth. sure they are ‘sssslightly’ more discreet than metal ones consdering a pigs more discreet than a hippo. is there anything I can do now they’re on? can I have them removed or am i advised to keep them on. I cant work out if im mad or not- sounds dilly but I mean if i had traditional metal ones i would be happy if they looked like this but these are not what i was expecting i think thats the issue. where do i stand in terms of getting a new set or like i said is that it now?
sorry I know this is more of a rant but i dont know if I can get them off and i dont want to walk into the dentist and offend him without first knowing that i can have this kind of thing done, cheers for your time Dr.

What are the best braces for my twisted teeth?

July 19th, 2011
Q.

hi

i have had bad teeth all my life, crooked and twisted etc, i have always kept them in the best of health though, but i think it is past time that i let them stay in the state they are in. I have twisted teeth throughout my mouth, visible from every angle and i just wondered what would be the best brace system for me to use to solve my problems? I am looking for something that is effective yet discreet so any help you could give me on making my choice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
