What brace should I have if I have my lingual brace removed?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

mr annop Maini. Could you please help me with my brace issue. I have a lingual brace fitted and i dont like the feel of it on the back of my teeth as i thought i would. I have long wanted to have a nicer feeling brace now so I was wondering what would be the best option to move to if I had these braces removed. cost is not an issuefor now. If I had a brace on the front or a removable one which would you recommend and why, considering my teeth are slightly overlapped and im two months into this treatment on an eighteen month plan. thanks a lot

How long will I have to wear a retainer for and can I have a fixed one?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

Hi ADAM. I have been on this site before and asked you about having brace/orthodontic treatment whilst having veneers and fillings. I took your advice and had the treatment done. The braces have worked well so far but I have nearly a year left again I’m not bothered about this. I have a concern though and it regards what happens after. my dentist has told me that afterwards he will make a retainer that I will have to wear every night. the problem is i don’t want one. is there not a fixed one, I’m sure I have heard of it. and also if not do i have to wear the thing the the reat of my life? I cant imagine still putting it in at50? thanks

What types of braces are used for six month smiles and social six treatments?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

To Mr Anoop Maini, I have long wondered about six month smiles and social six type treatments. basically as to what appliances they use and why. For example, looking at the six month smile would it not be possible to have this with one of those lingual braces so the treatment is fast and invisible or does the brace HAVE to be on the front of the teeth. also the same can be said of the social six, does the brace have to be like it is or can you not have incognito fittings on it? thank you I know this is two questions but thanks again.

With gaps and slanted teeth, would I be suitable for braces?

March 20th, 2012
Q.

I have gaps between all of my top teeth and two of my top teeth are a little crooked and slanted, I really want braces but I don’t know if my dentist will let me have them, do you think that is enough of a reason for me to get braces, and should I go see him or can I make an appointment straight with the orthodontist? I really want braces as my teeth annoy me and to me they look horrible so could you please help me. Thank you, this could really be of a great help

I’m not sure if it’s worth fixing the gap in my teeth or not?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Hi
I just got back from the dentist and she said my teeth are fine except there is a tiny gap in between my teeth do you think it’s worth getting braces? I meant to ask him before I left but forgot as we got talking about my gums. Apparently you look really bad with braces and I don’t want to look bad in front of my friends or when I go out and I’m worried that if I don’t get braces it will get worse and instead of having them for 6 months I’ll have them for a year and half

My braces seem to big and have irritated the inside of my cheeks?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Hi. Mr Patel I have been recommended to this site by a freind who used it previously and had contacted you- in doing so she had recieved ‘excellent feedback’ -quote. I was wondeing if you could help my situation. I have a full brace/traintracks. I don’t particularly like them of the truth is told but i assumed I wouldn’t so ill deal with it for the final outcome which i hope to be very happy with. the issue im having however cannot be ignored for now. the clasp things that the wires are anchored to seem too big and really irritate the inside of my cheeks, rubbing and the like, the skin there has gone white and has peeled. it does hurt now and agan when it catched but otherwise its just really annoying, is there anything i can do about this? cheers

How long does it take to have braces and is it painful?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Dear Adam Thorne. I would like to go through all aspects of getting a brace. but I’m not going to as this will consume a large amount of time and is usually left until a face to face appointment. however I would like to know about getting braces and how long it takes to put them on. I have heard that you have to have the brace put on a bit at a time or is this just talk. I had assumed it could just be placed there and then? also id there any pain involved when having the brace put on? I know this is two questions sorry, but thanks for your time 🙂

What is the quickest and most effective tooth straightening brace for me?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

I am considering having my upper & lower teeth straightened.
My main problem is one of the front lower teeth has over time been forced back, resulting in my bite not lining up correctly, as they have become a bit scattered.
Also a slight gap in my upper front teeth but my main concern is my right canine sticks out a bit from the others and is also slightly higher up in the gum and a yellowy colour, compared with the other teeth.

What type of brace would be the quickest, less visible AND most effective for me?
Please help!

I look forward to your response.

Regards
LP

Would social six treatment be a good option for me?

March 16th, 2012
Q.

Hello Mr Thorne. I would like to know a little more about social six braces please. my lower teeth between my two canines are all squashed together and I think a social six brace would be perfect. I think they are too crooked to be treated using Invisalign? but the rest of the teeth I don’t think will benefit from a full brace. anyway, do you think it is possible for teeth to be too crooked to have the social six or will they fir on anything? also by only moving these teeth are they quicker? thanks

I think I will look a bit daft if I get braces in my thirties. Can you advise?

March 9th, 2012
Q.

Hello Sir,. could you please lay to rest the fears i now have about braces. I have wanted them for a while now but I never wanted the train tracks. As a thirty one year old i feel lI would look a bit daft with them on and I here they take the longest of any treatment. I have been trying to research about things like and Inman Aligner and Invisalign but Have e found a lot of horror stories about both and also stories about how they’ve not worked or lined bottom teeth up with the top etc. what would you say about these types of brace treatment, are they reliable and do they give the correct and desired results? thank you
