What can I do to stop my Six Month Smiles braces going yellow?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi There, I am getting a six month smile brace after a long time pondering whether I should or not, my main concern being that I’ve read online that they stain really easy and go yellow! Is this correct and also there are hardly any pictures of people wearing them is this because it looks awful Iam just really worried what it will look like and if it stains will it make me look like I have got yellow teeth for six months 🙁 also can a treatment sometimes be quicker longer than six months thank you

How does Six Month Smiles fare in comparision to traditional braces?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hello, I have gaps between a few of my front teeth and everyone, family and local dentist has suggested I have braces that’ll sort them out. yes they probably will. but I don’t want braces i have never heard one person say they didnt mind them- everybody hates them and everyone else hates to look at them! admittedly i know of nobody that has regretted treatment as they all now have straight teeth which is why I do want treatment of some form. I have looked at your website and see you are a top provider of six month smiles. these appeal to me massively for obvious reasons being that its quicker. does 6 month smiles have the same drawbacks as traditional braces just over a smaller amount of time? in terms of eating and so on. and will my teeth need no further corrective treatment/attention/retention after treatment is completed?

I have mildly crossed teeth, would Invisalign be a good treatment option?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi I am torn between two sets of orthodontic treatments. I have mildly crossed teeth and hadn’t considered them bad enough to warrant having a fixed/traditional brace- bit of overkill? I have since then seen Invisalign and clearstep which I like the look of. either of these would be more suited to me, as as I mentioned my teeth are not ‘that’ bad. I always had reservations about these types of treatments though- I don’t know why i just find myself thinking i’ll end up trying it and being told this doesn’t work for you- get a traditional brace! however before this I spotted the Demon bracen which was tooth coloured/clear couldn’t make my mind up what colour it is was. but this was nearly invisible at a quick glance and looked as though it would perform like a traditional brace I.e: tried and tested. in straightening slightly crooked teeth what would you recommend of the two? or are they even good choices.. thank you.

Can Six Month Smiles fix my mum’s protruding teeth?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi i am writing to you on behalf of my mother. she is 47 years old and wants to have braces. she visited a dentist several months ago and they examined her and said that she has a small lower jaw, deep bite with upper teeth overlapping the lower teeth vertically and that her upper teeth are very pushed forwards, spaced and proclined. but then she went of the idea but now is adament on doing them. so i was just wondering what would be the best thing to do. is the 6 month smile plan a good idea and roughly how much would it cost

I am looking to get Damon braces, but need some advice on the cost, can you help?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi ADAM. I live in Maidstone so just outside London, I have always tried to stear clear of London when having any type of treatments be it a doctors for treatment, dentist- check ups, filling, hygienist and now orthodontists for braces for the simple reason that London is more expensive than anywhere in England for anything. the problem is- and this is probably why, is that all the top quality places (for anything) are based in London like yourself at Harley street. I need braces to close gaps in my teeth and am fancying the Damon brace as I’ve heard good things. what are your thoughts on the Damon brace and how much would it cost inside London (typically) to outside London, ish/difference. and would it be worth going into London and paying or do you think it would make no difference. Im left pondering my next move, thank you

What is the best treatment to straighten my mildly crooked teeth?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Dr, I think I am going to require braces as my teeth have stared to cross. a few years ago it wasn’t all that bad but over the last couple of months my teeth seem to have slipped if you will and appear to have moved more than they have in the last year or so! I want to stop it before it continues as hopefully that is possible. from your experience what is the best method of treatment for teeth that have just started to cross and are not yet that bad? I want to be able to hav the best treatment I can and at twenty three Im going to have to pay no matter what so I’m certainly not paying out to have the old fashioned ones as they’re disgusting! could you please advise, thank you in advance for any reply

Is decalcification common with Six Month Smiles and if so, how do I avoid it?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

hi there, iam considering six month braces and iam told my treatment will be the full six months. iam really worried about declarification (i think thats how its spelt) on my teeth can this take place with the brace only being on six months?. And if it did can it be reversed?. Id hate to have perfect straight teeth with lots of discolouration. Anything i can do to prevent this? is it common in your patients who have had this treatment?. Thanks in advance.

Can I have my teeth whitened after having my braces off?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

hello I am due to have my braces off in a few weeks (mid November) but despite the fact I have done everything I can do whilst wearing braces to stop them discolouring I’m pretty sure they have done just that. there’s still around three weeks of treatment to follow this point and therefore they wont get any cleaner. Can I have tooth whitening treatment after braces as part of the procedure or will I have to pay for that separately? If I have to pay for it what is the best methods and how much does it cost approximately? Im not a big fan of buying them from the supermarket you see as not only do I think they wont be good enough but that I wont be good enough to apply them well enough im very sceptical about products like them. I also don’t want to have it done at a tanning/beauty salon for the same reason.
