I have braces and have done so for about a year, traditional train tracks which i hate. i assume i cannot have them removed in order to implement a new set of linguals perhaps? thas a long shot but worth the ask whilst im here, secondly. although im doing the best I can in terms of keeping ym teeth clean- brushing behind as normal then going through the wires with the little brushes, i also use the point on the flossets to go round my gum line. but sometimes my patience gets the better of me and i get fed up of it. despite the fact that i will carry on cleaning them i weas wondering tif there was anything i can do when i ahave them removed. if i hav them whitened will they be ok or will i need to leave them for a certain amount of time? i will naturally be at the hygienist as soon as l#have them off but im worried they may be stained as my tetth were always bright white they already seem faded?

Can I have my braces removed/upgraded for linguals and how else can I keep them clean?
October 13th, 2011Are Damon braces suitable for closing gapped teeth?
October 12th, 2011How long approximately would it take for a traditional fixed brace to close gapped teeth/ is this quicker than treating crooked teeth if not im am considering having a more advanced correction system but if so I am quite happy to go ahead on the basis that, correct me if im wrong, it takes braces approximately two years to straighten teeth. does this mean then that traditional braces are the slowest? what alternative would be nearly as slow but better cosmetically would it just be Damons (they look almost the same but smaller) or would it just be a case of getting tooth coloured ones? Im just thinking that linguals will be to much and being as I have gaps you would still see the wire behind the teeth.

Am I too old for corrective treatment?
September 28th, 2011am i to old for braces? im currently 60 years young and have just retired, i now have all the time in the world and a small stash to get by on, im happy to commit the next two or three years to sorting my teeth out if it means having the rest of my days with straight teeth. my gums and teeth are all there, all mine and in good condition they just have a slight overlap on both the top and bottom. what would be the best brace to sort this out or is there one inparticularly? which for example would be the quickest and which would provide the best looks or again would they achieve the same thing? that way i can compare?

What are the different types of braces as I don’t want train tracks?
September 28th, 2011im looking to get braces to fix my crooked teeth and will consult this with my dentist over the next week or two there is no way getting tradition ones. I was wanted to know which you think is the best braces taking everything into account, budget, duration of treatment, aesthetics, comfort as well as final result to sort out overlapping teeth (bottom mainly but its started in the top arch now)? i like the look of the inmans but ive heard theyre expensive but they are also meant tot be quick arent they? also the social 6 brace looks good but i was wondering whether the back teeth would need to move to help prevent crowding in order to give the front room to move or do they push the back ones out? i dont know enough could you help and advise please i want to turn up at the dentist with some knowledge?

I’ve been told that I need braces. I don’t know what kind or what other braces exist?
September 27th, 2011I have been told what has no been inevitable to me for a while and that is that i need braces. I haven’t been told or been through with my dentist what type when he told me he simply said I had the choice between metal or white? One issue is that I have suffered from dental phobia for many years, anyway I have decided to move dentist top try and solve the problem, however a new issue has now arisen, I need to be at a dentist I can trust one who I know will be able to do what I want perfectly. my teeth are crooked most protrude at angles on the top row so i was thinking do I have to have ‘braces’ (by that I assume he meant traditional ones) or do any other brace types suit this kind of case? secondly how do i know if the dentist is a good one? understand that i cant walk in “are you a member of the International Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry” “no” then walk out? what should i look out for?

Should I get implants then braces or the other way around?
August 19th, 2011 I am a 28 year old male who has two baby teeth (the canines). I need to get the two canine babies pulled and replaced with implants. I also would like to get braces to make my teeth perfect. I was thinking the top would be lingual and the bottom would be regular. This way I would look more aesthetically pleasing and save some money. I also have fairly straight teeth as it is, but my future career is in film and I need to try to look as good as possible. So for my question:
A. What would you recommend for the process of things? Braces then implants, implants then braces?
B. Do you have any recommendations for reducing costs? I am paying off undergrad and soon attending grad school and need to watch the wallet as best I can.
C. What would be the time frame from the first procedure to the last? Would their be a time of awkward toothlessness?

Would it be possible for me to get lingual braces on NHS?
August 10th, 2011Hello,
I’m 15 and my orthodontist is planning on fitting me with braces. The problem with my teeth is that on my top row, I have 1 baby tooth remaining (due for extraction) without an adult tooth above it ready. He is planning on closing the gap left by this tooth and some other minor gaps, and sorting out the overcrowding on my bottom teeth which cause me discomfort. However I’m really uncomfortable about having fixed braces and I don’t know if he will allow me to have lingual braces fitted on the NHS (I can’t pay for private). I don’t know how I should go about asking for them, I don’t even know if it’s possible to have them. I just really don’t like the idea of visible fixed braces, especially for my 16th, prom, and probably 17th and 18th as well.

Which braces are best for my teeth?
August 1st, 2011Hi,I am concerned that I need braces,as I am going to university this September, and would really like them to be discreet and as unnoticeable as possible. I have looked into things such as lingual braces and Invisalign, and was wondering what your professional opinion of these treatment methods is. Price is definitely a factor,as I am only covered by the NHS up until the age of 19,and the severity of my problem is ,I doubt high enough to warrant any NHS treatment. My problem with my teeth is that my two front teeth (upper)are being pushed back by the ones adjacent to them, possibly due to overcrowding. The lower teeth are all straight, and do not bother me at all.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
