I am scared of getting braces put on, help?

Hi, Iam 13 and going to be getting fixed braces on the NHS and Iam really scared. THe dentist hasn’t probably explained the procedure to me so it’s left me scare. will needles be involved because iam really scared of them? how long will it take to get then put on and can i be asleep durning the procedure? and how much pain will i be in afterwards? Also do you know how long i am going to need to keep them on for? thanks

Can I get braces even through my front teeth are dead?

I am an adult, 24 years old and I would like to have Braces to straighten my teeth. My two front upper teeth are broken since I was 8 years and I have not done anything to them , they look arched from the ends. My dentist examines them and says they are dead as I could not feel the cold piece of cotton only on those two teeth. The questions are:
Would the braces cause my front teeth to fall or any problem?
What are the problems and could they be solved easily?
Will I need root canal treatments?
Would you advise me to leave my teeth as they are ok ?

What is the youngest age that you can get braces?

Hi adam my daughters 10 and got crooked teeth, whats the best type of braces for her? also whats the youngest that you can have braces as i dont really want her starting secondary school with braces/ crooked teeth as i was bullied for it when i was younger. I’av already asked our dentist but he doesn’t seem in any rush to help. we live in york and i am more than willing to pay, thank you for any tips that you could give me

What can you do to fix my ugly teeth?

I am 22 yrs old with an problem that iam trying to get fixed. I have something called a snaggletooth on my left side, that is the only thing wrong with my smile, otherwise Id say it was perfect, however it’s affecting my career( I’am a model, therefore everything has to be perfect) . I am wondering if this can be fixed without having to have ugly fixed braces fitted? i would be so ever grateful if you can find a solution to this problem i have. Thank you!!

Why is my dentist fitting my brace then extracting my teeth?

Hello I have just come back home from a trip to the dentist and I am really confused, I am going to have braces put on within the next two weeks and was told I would need tooth extractions. However, the dentist said he is going to put the braces on first and then perform the tooth extractions afterwards. This sounds a bit strange to me. Why would teeth extractions come after braces being put on when dealing with crowding? Iam having fixed braces put on privately if this is of help to your diagnosis. thanks!

Will my daughter get white spots like me?

Hello there, JUts a quick question, I had braces about 20years ago and whilst I had them on they caused my teeth to stained badly meaning they were leaving me with white spots on my teeth which has made me self conscious about my smile. Last week our family dentist told me that my daughter needs braces. Is getting white spots still a common problem or does my daughter not have the risk of this? thanks

Could braces withstand my teeth grinding?

Hello,I have slightly crooked front teeth which I have had attached braces for during my teens to fix. However over time they become crooked again.
I’d like to get Invisalign-do prices begin at around the 3000 mark or can it be cheaper in milder cases? as my teeth aren’t that bad as to need full on braces.

Also I grind my teeth during my sleep and wear a gum shield to protect my teeth during the night. Would I still be able to have Invisalign? Would it stand up to my grinding? as I need a new gum shield every 8 months or so.

What’s the best brace to fix my crossbite?

Hi Adam, my dentist told me that I have a cross bite and that Iam going to need braces in the next couple of months, but Iam not too sure what he means by this. I know that my teeth don’t line up and are crooked, Is this what he means by crossbite? please could you give me some information on what crossbite is and what type of brace i am going to have and how long iam going to have to wear them for? Can I get invisible braces on the NHS?

Hey, My teeth are a little gappy and Iav just been told off my dentist that I need to have braces, but I dont really think that my teeth are that band and I really don’t want huge metal ones that are really visible since iam only 14 and dont want to grow up wearing a massive metal brace, is there any others that I can have a invisible brace on the NHS? if not what would they cost to go private? Whats the best brace without headgear?

hi

could you tell me the best braces for severe crowding and fangs? All my teeth are bunched together and it just looks hideous. I would guess that i would need a pretty advanced brace to sort it all but i would really like to avoid wearing a head brace as they just look terrifying! What braces would you suggest as being the most effectivve? thanks for any help you can give doctor, this has been bugging mr for quite a while. thank you for your time and assistance.
