What would be the best system to fix concave shapes on the sides of my arch?

April 11th, 2012
Q.

Hi Adam, I have thought about braces for some time now as my upper arch has a sort of concave shape to from my premolars to my the teeth behind my canines like a ‘n’ with collapsed sides sort of thing. I want to know whether or not a brace can sort this out and what would be the best type of brace to use should I have the option? as a secondary thought I would like whatever system to be the quickest possible, just incase that changes anything. thank you for taking the time to read this.

What are the two best alternative brace treatments to conventional braces?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

Hi there sir. Both me and a friend are in a position whereby we need braces. He has already had a few appointments outlining the procedure and things like that for a set of traintracks. I don’t want train tracks and have been looking for alternatives that will be quicker. We have been debating with each other for some time now as to whats the best method, i imagine this does vary from person to person but in general, if train tracks are so widely used is it because they are better than alternative appliances? for instance I have been looking a lot at the damon and the incognito as my favourite two options?? thank you Dr, for your time and input

What brace should I have if I have my lingual brace removed?

March 30th, 2012
Q.

mr annop Maini. Could you please help me with my brace issue. I have a lingual brace fitted and i dont like the feel of it on the back of my teeth as i thought i would. I have long wanted to have a nicer feeling brace now so I was wondering what would be the best option to move to if I had these braces removed. cost is not an issuefor now. If I had a brace on the front or a removable one which would you recommend and why, considering my teeth are slightly overlapped and im two months into this treatment on an eighteen month plan. thanks a lot

Does teeth whitening come included in the price of getting a brace or not?

February 24th, 2012
Q.

MR Maini. I am looking to get orthodontic treatment at some point in the next few months and will need a consultation with a specialist at some point I know. I was thinking that if i have the traditional braces i will need some form of tooth whitening after the treatment had finished but if i have six month smiles or a damon brace that are considerably quicker would i still need this kind of treatment? if i do have to have this treatment would i have to pay extra or would it be included in the initial price? I anticipate your response Dr thank you

I have a split in my gum. Would this pose a problem to fast acting orthodontics?

February 17th, 2012
Q.

I have a split in my gum. It’s been there whil and I’ve had it checked out. the dentist says is now OK despite the fact you can still see it. I also have really crooked teeth and had hoped to have braces. I’m not a fan of traditional braces and had planned on having a more cosmetically pleasing option. I have my worries though, hence coming looking for advice, about this crack. If I have something like a Damon that works quickly would it cause damage to this crack in my gum? thank you

Is there an alternative to straighten my teeth other than fixed braces with long treatment time?

February 9th, 2012
Q.

Hi there,
I am 36 years old man and I suffer with a lot of problems with my teeth. Very crooked, crowed and terrible bite and misalignment teeth especially the canine tooths. Both on top and bottom. II have seen a lot of orthodontists that all conclude that I need a proper traditional braces therapy and allow at least 3-4 years to provide results in my case.
I come across your profile and images of your case studies. after I search for more info for the inman aligners.
I wonder if these new aligners can help complicated cases as well.
I have to say that I am interested for some improvement at least if possible. I am not well prepared to use traditional braces for 3 years.
I am also interested for other ways to fix my smile despite the fact that I know I can destroy healthy teeth.
Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks

I want to straighten my severely crossed lower teeth but I have a chipped tooth, what do I do first?

February 2nd, 2012
Q.

Hi Anoop maini. all my lower teeth have crowded severely. I chipped one recently and was hoping to have a veneer placed on it or some bonding. I decided to wait and find out if this should be done before or after. What I want to know though is if I can any treatment to fix the chipped tooth temporarily whilst wearing braces. I had planned on getting Damon braces as they are fast and fairly discreet unless there is a better option if this makes a difference at all. thanks for your time Dr.

What orthodontic treatment should I have, and should I have my teeth whitened first?

December 20th, 2011
Q.

Hi Darsh I have decided that I want ot have a brace to sort out my crooked teeth. my teeth are not that bad and nobody had ever noticed them, they don’t bother me to much but I have now saved up what should be more than enough to have treatment. I am now considering what brace to have and am stuck between the hidden lingual ones the Damon braces and the invisalign but I’m told that you cant have these on both rows of teeth so I may not be able t have them. What I want to know though is whether or not it would be a good idea to have my teeth cleaned/whitened before having a brace so that the effects of a brace are lessened over the course of treatment or is this something you would not recommend?

I am currently wearing Damon braces but have chipped my tooth. Will I need to have my brace off?

December 16th, 2011
Q.

Hi I am now in a very unfortunate position whereby I have a set of Damon braces that Ive been wearing for around three months. I’m not massively keen on them being there but they have to be and they are better than some alternatives I know. the issue I have is that at weekend I fell really badly coming outside with the shopping, upon doing so I have managed to chip my front tooth! I was in absolute agony like I never have been before. the tooth is now causing problems as its very sensitive, even to cold air being breathed in, I have to manage my breathing through my nose all the time. it looks a mess and if foods catch it it can be quite sensitive, Im worried it may have knocked my brace, though it doesn’t look like it. I need this tooth seeing to desperately but wanted to seek assurance/direction, will I need to have the brace off or will they be able to carry out the necessary if so what are the costs involved in removing the brace? thank you

What should I expect from an orthodontic consultation?

December 16th, 2011
Q.

Hello RAha. I like a lot of people have decided I have to have braces, so i assume thats the first step. the realisation. now however I need to decide what braces I am going to need. I know at some stage I will need an appointment and have a dentist look at my situation. could i ask though what will happen in these consultations what, If I came to your dental suit for example would you be thinking and checking for when determining whether a patient will be able to have, lets say a Damon brace as I am keen on these systems? I will do anything to not have a fixed traditional brace so any help would be greatley appreciated. thank you
