I have mildly crossed teeth, would Invisalign be a good treatment option?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi I am torn between two sets of orthodontic treatments. I have mildly crossed teeth and hadn’t considered them bad enough to warrant having a fixed/traditional brace- bit of overkill? I have since then seen Invisalign and clearstep which I like the look of. either of these would be more suited to me, as as I mentioned my teeth are not ‘that’ bad. I always had reservations about these types of treatments though- I don’t know why i just find myself thinking i’ll end up trying it and being told this doesn’t work for you- get a traditional brace! however before this I spotted the Demon bracen which was tooth coloured/clear couldn’t make my mind up what colour it is was. but this was nearly invisible at a quick glance and looked as though it would perform like a traditional brace I.e: tried and tested. in straightening slightly crooked teeth what would you recommend of the two? or are they even good choices.. thank you.

I am looking to get Damon braces, but need some advice on the cost, can you help?

November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi ADAM. I live in Maidstone so just outside London, I have always tried to stear clear of London when having any type of treatments be it a doctors for treatment, dentist- check ups, filling, hygienist and now orthodontists for braces for the simple reason that London is more expensive than anywhere in England for anything. the problem is- and this is probably why, is that all the top quality places (for anything) are based in London like yourself at Harley street. I need braces to close gaps in my teeth and am fancying the Damon brace as I’ve heard good things. what are your thoughts on the Damon brace and how much would it cost inside London (typically) to outside London, ish/difference. and would it be worth going into London and paying or do you think it would make no difference. Im left pondering my next move, thank you

Can a brace realign my crooked bite?

November 17th, 2011
Q.

hi, I want to know if a brace will solve the problem I have but it’s not a massive problem I don’t think. When I bite and smile as wide as I can to reveal all my teeth yo can notice that the back teeth seem to be stuck further out as large parts of the second molars (lower), are visible. this is the same on either side and is very symmetrical, it therefore is not an un-even bit but it could be possibly be a bad bite. Id noticed this only for cosmetic reasons as one of the teeth has a cavity and if my mouth is shut and I smile the cavity is clearly visible. I was wondering if a brace could pull my upper teeth out a bit to cover more of the tooth? in order to do this which would you say is the best brace?

What is the best orthodontic appliance for crooked teeth?

November 16th, 2011
Q.

hi,
what would you say is the best brace to have in order to straighten teeth that are crooked.? I have looked at various options and like the look of the inman aligners as they are quick and very discreet but have the drawback of the cost along with the other option that I liked in the damon braces, I basically do not want traditional braces and was wondering what the obvious alternative is. would it simply be linguals? how much compared to traditional sets do linguals cost? I have looked also at the Damon brace which is regarded as being quick. basically for crooked teeth what would be your top three solutions in alternatives to old fixed braces?

Are Damon braces better than braces for straightening crooked teeth?

November 11th, 2011
Q.

Hi Raha I’m thinking of getting a Damon brace. I think it looks lot better than the traditional ones and apparently it is quicker? I have crooked teeth, not severe but not at all mild. I’d say on a 1-10 scale they’re a 6. I think that the Damons would be best as they, for me seem to be a suped up version of a traditional brace (correct me if i’m wrong) and my dentist keeps trying to drill into me that a traditional brace is the one and so on! would you sasy that the Damon brace is better than a traditional brace for crooked teeth? if not what are the other alternatives to straightening crooked teeth that are good? and finally is it possible to get tooth coloured Damons? that would be perfect

What is the best brace to treat overlapping teeth?

November 9th, 2011
Q.

I am 16 in the UK, Lancaster in full time education and I am desperate for braces. On my top teeth I have an incisor that is angled forward and on my bottom teeth, I have over lapping teeth. I have only spoken to my dentist about it once and he said it would cost about £2,500. I haven’t been to see an orthodontist as my mum is dead set on my not having braces but recently I have noticed them to be getting worse and I am feeling really self conscious about it. I just wondered if there is any advice you can give me about getting other opinions and advice! Thank you

Can Damon braces straighten my crooked top and bottom teeth?

November 8th, 2011
Q.

I have just turned nineteen and as such am now to old to receive free brace treatment on the NHS at a NHS dentist. the issue is a lot of these old NHS dentist are doing (or already have) going private anyway. I’m now not too bothered that I’m going to have to pay for it because a lot of places are offering 0% finance and so on. coupled with the fact that I learnt that only the traditional braces were free means that I’m not too bothered. I have crooked teeth on the bottom jaw and my top ones have started to move but in doing do this has created a small space between two other teeth, I like the look of Damon braces as they are slightly more discreet and apparently quicker. could you please tell me on average how much Damon braces cost and can they as look treat anything that traditional braces could fix? and do you think they wuold be suitable for a patient such as myself?

Are Damon braces suitable for closing gapped teeth?

October 12th, 2011
Q.

How long approximately would it take for a traditional fixed brace to close gapped teeth/ is this quicker than treating crooked teeth if not im am considering having a more advanced correction system but if so I am quite happy to go ahead on the basis that, correct me if im wrong, it takes braces approximately two years to straighten teeth. does this mean then that traditional braces are the slowest? what alternative would be nearly as slow but better cosmetically would it just be Damons (they look almost the same but smaller) or would it just be a case of getting tooth coloured ones? Im just thinking that linguals will be to much and being as I have gaps you would still see the wire behind the teeth.

What are the different types of braces as I don’t want train tracks?

September 28th, 2011
Q.

im looking to get braces to fix my crooked teeth and will consult this with my dentist over the next week or two there is no way getting tradition ones. I was wanted to know which you think is the best braces taking everything into account, budget, duration of treatment, aesthetics, comfort as well as final result to sort out overlapping teeth (bottom mainly but its started in the top arch now)? i like the look of the inmans but ive heard theyre expensive but they are also meant tot be quick arent they? also the social 6 brace looks good but i was wondering whether the back teeth would need to move to help prevent crowding in order to give the front room to move or do they push the back ones out? i dont know enough could you help and advise please i want to turn up at the dentist with some knowledge?
